Your gaze can roam far to the east, north and west: below the narrow opening to the Eisack valley originating at the Brenner, the whole of Bozen, the vast Etschland and Überetsch, opposite the low mountain range of Völs and Seis as far as the Seiser Alpe, the plateaus of the Ritten and the Salten and the ridge of the Mendel; in the background the crest of South Tyrol's high mountains of the western Dolomites with the Rosengarten and Schlern across the Sarntaler (Hirzer 2781m) and the Ötztaler (Weißkugel 3746m) as far as the highest massif of the eastern Alps, the Ortler range of mountains.
