A panoramic hotel – once and today

Was the term ‘summer resort’ born in Colle? Well, that doesn’t really matter, because everyone leaving the sweltering heat of Bolzano in summer in the direction of Colle will feel revitalised after just a few minutes. This was no news to the ingenuous hotelier Josef Staffler. In 1908 he built the first suspension passenger-cableway to Bolzano’s local mountain, and still today one can guess from the cablecar the breathtaking view to come.
